Here’s a summary of what’s been gleaned so far… btw, I doubt there would be many ROM 0 (UniDisk 3.5) lurking among these A2S4000, as Euro models were manufactured at much slower pace (vs American). ROM 0 was available through dealer-installed “Add-On Kit”
50Hz (“PAL”) Apple IIc model codes (original ROM 255):
- A2S4000Z – International English (UK QWERTY) for Australia/N.Z. etc – same CPU as A2S4000B
- A2S4000F – France (AZERTY)
- A2S4000B – Britain (UK QWERTY)
- A2S4000N – Netherlands (UK QWERTY) – same CPU as A2S4000B
- A2S4000D – Germany (QWERTZ)
- A2S4000T – Italy (QZERTY)
- A2S4000Y – Spain (Spanish European)
- A2S4000FN – Belgium (AZERTY) – French IIc + Dutch supplements – same CPU as A2S4000F
- A2S4000S – Sweden (Swedish QWERTY)
- A2S4000SF – Swedish model as packaged for Finland – same CPU as A2S4000S
And a rundown of the various international ROM 3 Apple IIc models:
- A2S4100Z – English UK/International (50Hz) (please see attached photo)
- A2S4100C – Canadian (NTSC)
- A2S4100E – Latin American Spanish (NTSC) – so-called “Western Spanish”
- A2S4100Y – Spain (50Hz)
- A2S4100F – France (50Hz) – 128K base model
- A2S4110F – France (50Hz) – 384K RAM factory-fitted
- A2S4100AB – probably Middle East (50Hz)
- A2S4100X – Australia/New Zealand (50Hz) – has USA keyboard
